What is UniqueLife365?
UniqueLife365 (UL365, for short) is our beloved jewelry business. We are a husband-and-wife team with no employees.
Where do you get the jewelry you sell?
All of our jewelry is preowned. We source our inventory locally, through both private and public sales.
What methods do you use to determine the metal purity and the stones?
We use standard acid testing for both silver and gold. We use a Presidium II Gemstone tester to identify gemstones. However, we are not gemologists.
Are the stones in your jewelry mined or lab-created?
Most of the stones we come across appear to be lab-created due to their lack of imperfections that occur naturally in mined stones (and are visible when examined closely). However, the older a piece of jewelry is, the greater the chance the stone was mined from the earth.
Why do you sell only preowned jewelry?
Several reasons. We really like being part of the second-hand selling market, which helps reduce what ends up in landfills. Also, for many buyers, being able to own quality jewelry at a lower cost (compared with new pieces) is important. Additionally, vintage jewelry was crafted in ways that are representative of the styles of the time and generally not duplicated under current methods of manufacturing jewelry.
Are there benefits to owning gold or silver jewelry versus costume jewelry?
If you’re looking for jewelry that is long-lasting – sturdy with minimal degradation in the metal – then silver or gold jewelry is a good choice. There are many beautiful pieces of costume jewelry made of other metals (or a mix of metals, such as brass and copper), but many of those pieces degrade more quickly. With proper care, your gold and silver jewelry will last a lifetime.
Will I be charged sales tax?
The rules governing when we must charge sales tax differ from state to state. If we charge you sales tax, it is because we are required to, and the amount is remitted to the appropriate state.
How often will you list new inventory on your site?
We are continually listing new pieces, so it’s worth checking back regularly!
What is your refund policy?
We want you to love your purchase. If you discover it is not what you expected, please contact us via our Contact page within 7 days of delivery and we will provide instructions for returning the jewelry for a full refund.
